Tragedy in Houston
This story may have made national headlines but it's pretty sad. A 24 yo hispanic man was at Denny's about 11PM when he was leaving was taking a leak in the parking lot. A 48 yo drove up with this late teenage daughter and wife, who is a deputy sheriff, was in another car. I guess the older man said something to the younger guy and a fight ensued. It is said that the younger male threw the first punch, which I find surprising because he wasn't a big guy and the older gentleman was much bigger and stronger. Anyway, the video in the link shows him basically suffocating the smaller, younger male. He dies three days later and the ME labeled the death a homicide. There was a lot of sensitivity on the matter, due to the police violence over the past few years, and the fact that the wife was a sheriff and present (in the video) at the time of the incident.
A grand jury indicted the male with murder and his wife an accessory to murder. Bail for both set a 100,000. Now two families have likely lost a father because a guy thought he could take the law into his own hands. Pretty dumb. There is no way his life was threatened. Reports were Hernandez was about 160lbs. Thompson looks at least 250 if not bigger. The actual video starts at about the 0:50 mark.
